Starting a new blog or business can be totally overwhelming. There are so many things to learn and an endless list of to-dos. And don't even get me started about all that crushing fear and anxiety.
So how do you keep from throwing in the towel when things get tough? Just keep learning, just keep learning (sing it like Dory would).
Did you know that podcasts are an excellent learning resource for the new blogger or business owner? Of course, you can find a podcast for just about anything these days, but there are some absolutely amazing podcasts geared toward helping women build and grow their blogs and businesses.
Women who are unquestionably rocking the business world are taking the time to pour out all the secrets to their success in perfectly bite-sized portions for those of us who are short on time but desire to learn.
Listening to a podcast allows you to:
- Learn new skills and hear how others are successfully using those skills in their businesses.
- Find out what tools other bloggers and business owners love to use and how they are using them.
- Hear success stories which motivate you to keep chasing your goals, and also what hasn't worked in business and things you shouldn't do.
- Stories about real people making great things happen, and how you can do it too.
And the best part of it all is that podcasts are free! These amazing women want to share their knowledge and skills with you to help you grow in business and become as successful as you can be. How cool is that?
Think you don't have time to squeeze in a podcast?
Then it's time to get creative. I was blown away by the valuable tips and advice I received when I started listening to podcasts. I could spend hours listening and trying to absorb all the incredible information these women so freely provide.
But let's face it, most of us don't have a lot of extra time to dedicate to learning and education, so carving out a little time can be difficult.
Here are a few ways you could incorporate a podcast or two into your day:
- Listen in the car while running errands.
- Switch out your workout music for a motivating podcast while on the treadmill or out for a walk.
- Pop in some earphones while you are doing a little house work.
- Lay down for a nap with the kids and listen while they (hopefully) take a snooze.
- Grab a Bluetooth speaker and listen while you are getting dinner ready.
- Take your earphones with you while you shop for groceries - just don't run anyone over.
Why podcasts are so important
You get valuable tips and advice from successful women who truly want to help other women become successful in their lives and careers. These are women who are sharing their successes and failures with you in the hopes of helping you achieve your goals and dreams by learning what works and what doesn't.
It's like having your own personal business coach there to guide you through the ins and outs of running a blog or business. I've found the advice to be invaluable in starting my own creative design business.
So without further delay, here are 5 of my most favorite podcasts by women that will rock your world.

As I've begun to step into the world of blogging and starting my own business, I've come across some tremendously talented women who are making things happen in the online business world. Melyssa Griffin is one of these women who I've come to adore. The information she shares to help other bloggers and entrepreneurs grow their blogs and businesses is simply amazing.
She has a quirky wit and a "tell it like it is" style to her posts which makes her seem so down to earth and trustworthy. Those are the kind of people you want to get advice from. The ones who seem real and work hard to show you that they are creating content to help you grow through the struggles of starting and growing a blog and business.

Just Keep Blogging
by Kim Anderson
For a long time, I've wanted to start my own creative design business. I never dreamed I would use blogging as a way to get where I was going. I've never considered myself to be much of a writer, not sure if I ever will.
I was lucky enough to discover Elite Blog Academy as they opened the doors for registration earlier this year. If you've never heard of EBA, let me just tell you, it's amazing! It's a 12 unit in-depth blogging course that teaches you everything, and I do mean everything you need to know about how to successfully run and launch a blog.
Kim Anderson is considered to be an Elite Blog Academy VIP. Pretty awesome title if you ask me. That means she also took the course and went on to run the very successful blog, Thrifty Little Mom where she writes about how to keep up with the demands of family and work life.
Kim also runs a coaching and consulting business - Kim Anderson Consulting, where she helps new bloggers with time management, brand and audience clarity, monetization strategies, business goal setting and so much more.
Kim recently launched her Just Keep Blogging podcast which teaches you her best blogging tips and things that have helped her become a successful blog and business owner.
One of my most favorite podcasts of Kim's to date is one she did with Christy Wright. It's really cool when two of your favorite podcasters team up and offer so many valuable tips in one great podcast.
Just keep learning, just keep learning ...
Growing a blog or business can be stressful. There are so many decisions to make and so many directions you can go. I believe that the more we can educate ourselves will help in every aspect of that growth. And why not get that education from women who are already doing it and who really want to teach others how to become successful.
I hope you find a new podcast in this list that you fall in love with and that helps you with your business and personal growth. I'd really love to hear what are some of your most favorite podcasts and why you love them?
