You have quite a few choices when it comes to selecting an email marketing tool. I've had the opportunity to work with several programs, most of which I really liked, but also quickly became expensive.
And let's talk about the learning curve. Some of the programs I've tried can be a bit challenging to learn. Who has time to spend countless hours trying to use a complicated email program? I don't, and I'm sure you don't either.
How important is price?
If you happen to run a blog or a website which you are constantly updating with new content, then more than likely you are also using several other tools to help you develop and market that content. While some offer free limited trials, many require a monthly or yearly fee. Things can add up quickly!
So anytime I find a really great tool that allows you an extended free period AND gives you access to use everything they offer, well, I just need to share.
If you are looking for a easy email marketing software which will allow you to:
- Create multiple subscriber lists and view detailed statistics for each list and subscriber
- Create pop-ups, embedded forms, signup buttons and beautiful landing pages
- Quickly and easily set up email automation when a subscriber performs certain actions
- Send out beautiful email newsletters with your own custom design or using a template to help get you started
then I'd love to take you on a tour of MailerLite so you can decide if it is a good fit for your email marketing needs.
MailerLite is a powerful, yet affordable email marketing tool. And the best part, it's so easy to learn!
As I mentioned before, I've worked with a few other email marketing tools in the past that were quite a bit more expensive, so you would think they would be easy to use. Some were, but others were difficult to navigate and figure out. If you have to spend hours trying to figure out how to do simple tasks, then it's definitely not worth the cost of using the program.
I've discovered that MailerLite not only offers a ton of email and automation options, but the interface is extremely intuitive and user-friendly.
Let's take a quick look at some of the features MailerLite has to offer and everything you need to know to make the switch.

I don't know about you, but when I find a new tool to use for web design or marketing that offers a free trial period so I can test it out, I'm more likely to sign up for that service.
And to find a great tool that gives you time to grow your audience without breaking the bank, well, that's a bonus in my book!
MailerLite offers a Forever Free plan allows you to grow your list to 1000 subscribers before you have to pay a single penny, and then plans start at only $10/month. That is considerably less than some of the other email marketing services out there.
And what's really great about MailerLite's Forever Free plan is that you get access to ALL features. That's right, I said you get everything!
Many plans will only give you access to a few key features, but MailerLite wants you to love their product, so they let you use everything they have to offer to make sure you do.
If you have decided to give MailerLite a try, you may want to start by setting up your subscriber lists. Think about how you want to separate your lists. Do you simply need one master list to collect all email addresses, or should you set up separate lists so you can send targeted emails to certain groups?
If you are converting from another email program, MailerLite makes it easy to import a current subscriber list via a CSV or TXT file. You can also cut and paste email addresses directly into a new list.
And don't worry if you are sending an email to multiple lists which may contain the same email multiple times. MailerLite will only send one email no matter how many times the address appears in different lists.
Make sure you are knowledgeable about Anti Spam Laws and how they apply to email marketing.
So now that you have your email lists set up, it's time to figure out how you want to collect the emails on your site. MailerLite provides you with three ways to build subscriber forms for your site.
- Pop-up Forms
- Landing Pages
- Embedded Forms & Buttons
Pop-ups are considered to be one of the best ways to collect subscribers on your website. MailerLite offers the ability to completely customize the look and behavior of your pop-up.
Select one of their customizable templates to get started. You can choose one of the box style pop-ups or select the full-screen option which will cover the entire screen when activated.
Customize everything from colors and fonts to background colors and images using their completely intuitive design setting interface.
Once you have customized your pup-up, you can also customize the success landing page to match.
When the template looks good, save and continue to select how you want the pop-up to behave. You can choose when to show the pop-up by selecting how many seconds to wait, what percentage of the page a user has to scroll, or to show the pop-up if a user decides to exit the page.
Also, set the frequency of how many times you want the pop-up to appear on the site if a visitor does not subscribe the first time.
2 Landing Pages
Creating a beautiful landing page has never been easier. MailerLite offers a gallery of pre-designed templates to get you started, but don't worry, each template is completely customizable using their drag-and-drop editor, and the customization options are endless.
For an even more customized look, you can publish landing pages to your own domain using the Custom Domain Address feature. Instead of receiving a generic address to link subscribers to such as (www.subscribepages.com/a4y251), you can have a link that looks like http://signup.creativblooms.com/designlibrary
There are two options for embedding forms on your site. You can:
- Embed a sign-up form directly on your site so your reader can quickly subscribe to your list
- Add a subscribe button which will link to a pop-up form for your reader to fill out.
Once you've customized the form, you are provided with a few easy options for adding the code to your site.
Email automation allows you to set up custom workflows for when a new subscriber joins or leaves your list, when they click on a specific link or on a specific targeted date you select. Some email marketing applications want you to pay before you are allowed to use their automation tools.
I have found MailerLite to offer one of the easiest and most intuitive interfaces for setting up email automation. And the great thing is, once you set it up, you can forget it and move on to the next important task.
Last, but certainly not least, MailerLite allows you to design beautiful emails using their simple drag-and-drop editor.
You can start with a blank template to create a completely customized and branded email or select an email template from their gallery to get you started.
A feature I am crazy about that was not available in a previous email marketing tool I used regularly is the file manager. Once you load an image into the file manager, you will have access to reuse it in future emails. This makes the design process so much quicker.
Don't let the cost fool you
MailerLite is packed full of features that are extremely easy-to-use. I've used programs that cost quite a bit more and don't offer near the features and functionality of this software.
They give you plenty of time to use the software and test the features before you begin paying for the service. That's a huge bonus in my book.
I hope you enjoyed this MailerLite review. I'd love to hear what tools you use for email marketing and why you love it, or what you wish it would do better?
